Just a few things more to complete

I don't know what possessed me to make her shoes like this!. I am not enamoured by them at all. I guess I just wanted it to be finished soon so I was not thinking. Anyway there is nothing I can do now.

I hope to make some wings out of this fabric. Hopefully it will work out the way I want it to. I made the dress out of silk Dupioni which frays like mad. I collected all the silk threads that came out of the fabric and used it io make this fabric. I added a little sprinkling of angelina fibres to give it a little bit of sparkle. You cannot see it clearly in the picture. Then she will be done. However I need to make a perch for her. I have an idea but it is not going to be done before I am away for couple of weeks. There is always something sigh!

  3. I love the shoes! I know how it is, though, when something doesn't fit what you have in mind.

  5. Shashi I think her shoes are lovely. Did you want them to be a little more pointed like on the illustration on the front of the book? Do they come off? If so you could perhaps make another pair later on if you really don’t like them. Her wings are going to be so pretty, can’t wait to see the finished item.
I hope your time away will be spent doing something you enjoy.
Thank you for the comment you left on my blog – I’m breathing deeply!

  6. Yes I think I did Barbara, but the class had this style of shoes and more over I was so busy as well as in pain with my back issues which was travelling down my arm and wrists I did not have the time or the inclination to think it through properly so opted for a simple solution which in the end became complicated and now I am stuck with it as I cannot remove these shoe:-)
My time away will be most probably be spent looking after mum. She will be 90 in August so it is a special year for her and I am hoping it will be a healthy year for her

  8. The shoes you made for your doll are beautiful and all the threads you gathered for fabric will certainly make for some lovely wings. I can't wait to see your doll.

I'm sorry you're experiencing such pain with your back. I hope you will feel better after resting. Hopefully seeing your mum will lift your spirits and hers as well! Take care

  10. so clever that you used the silk threads to make the wings! Wow. How do you display your dolls - just wondering - I'm thinking it must be a beautiful set up - have you ever photo'd it - or do you sell them.

    1. Sandy I rarely sell them. Most of the dolls are dumped on top of each other in a cupboard. I do display some on the mantle piece in the living room and keep changing them over
